Suggest Treatment For Acute Knee Pain

default
Posted on Thu, 6 Nov 2014
Question: I had an accident in year 2009 March, Then I have recovered, but I still get pain sometimes in Knee, though knee was not injured much.. They said some ligament tear and it was all fine. I got an x-ray done and scan done, but i still do have pain some times.

Few docs have said, it is acute pain, it will go eventually. Now i am planning to do workouts and running in a week. Can i start?

Brief Answer:
It shouldn't be a problem

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for the query.

I have gone through your description, you met an accident in 2009 which was a ligament tear and feel that it would have healed well by now as the scan is normal.

As you have pain on and off that could be due to stretch in the ligament and as your doctor has advised you it would eventually go away.

Considering that you have recovered well and had undergone physiotherapy post accident then you can start with your workouts and running but you need to be cautious initially and need to gradually increase the time and intensity of the workouts.

Hope this answers your query. If any further clarifications, will be happy to help you.

Regards.
