Suggest Treatment For Acne After Child Birth
Question: Hi doctor
My wife is having lot of acne on face and we have used the clindoxycil and cetaphil cleansing lotion for almost 10 days now as per adviced by one of the dermatologist doctors here and doctor mentioned the condition need to be assesed after two weeks ,so i would like to know whether my wife still need to continue to use the same for some more time. Attached the pics of acnes of her face.please advice.

I have reviewed the attached photographs.
Yes you need to continue with the cleansing lotion as well as benzoyl peroxide gel. Acne is a chronic disease and takes time to resolve. Continue with the same treatment for another 2 weeks. In my view she also needs oral antibiotics like capsule doxycycline 100 mg one capsule daily at bedtime.
It is common to have acne after pregnancy because of hormonal changes but don't worry it will get resolved.
Besides this keep face dry, avoid applying oily creams and moisturisers, avoid oiling of scalp, use cosmetics labelled as noncomedogenic and reduce the intake of sugary foods.
