Question: I have been suffering with a cough that produces a large amount of phylem. A sour taste comes into my throat and I cough. I was diagnosed with acid reflux. I'm on medication. but, it's not helping. My ENT doctor put a scope up my nose and down int my throat. he said my Larnyx is red and inflamed and i have some post nasal drip, fluid behind my ears. My throat also has a red rash itchy rash on the exterior. I have been experiencing this for 8 years. Initially, i was being treated for Sinus and allergies. Wrong diagnosis, i have had every Sinus and Allergy medication available nothing helps. The red itchy rash will go dormant even though the cough is still there. One. I go on medications it becomes active again. my concern is the there is some a connection between the Red Laynx and the red itchy rash. No doctor has been able to help me for 8 years. In the middle of a conversation, this sour phylem come in to my throat and chokes me into a coughing frenzy. I gag, my eyes turn red and I cough up massive amounts of phylem. I literally use a large paper towel roll and a big box of kleenex per day. I wake up at night choking an gagging. I'm being told it's acid reflux. But i don't have heartburn.
