Brief Answer:
This is not suggestive of pancreatic cancer. What drugs are you on?

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this constant nausea, the weight loss and above all the fears related to pancreatic cancer. I understand your fears and they are totally normal. We all get concerned when dealing with the possibility of heavy disease conditions like cancer. However, your symptoms are not suggestive of a possible cancer of the pancreas. The severe fears related to the thought that this could be cancer may actually be the cause or aggravating factor for your anxiety. I will suggest that you get relaxed about this at this time.

However, because you have a strong family history of cancer of the pancreas means the doctors would put an eye on the pancreas and any suspicious lesions would be identified and managed early an aggressively. Cancer of the pancreas in itself is not fatal except when diagnosed at a stage that it can no longer be cured through surgery.

What drugs are you on? Symptoms of acid reflux include nausea, pain, sensation of food/liquid returning to the mouth and at times a feeling of something stuck in the throat. Treatment is often started with omeprazole and evaluated for response to treatment.

In all, these symptoms are not suggestive of cancer of the pancreas. Relax about this and the anxiety would be better managed. Also, the endoscopy would provide definitive answers on the disease and way forward. Could you please tell me for how long these symptoms have been going on?

I hope this addresses your query fully. I wish you well. Thanks for using our services and feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
