Suggest Treatment For Abdominal Pain And Discomfort

Question: hi
i am having pain in my stomach from few days,, most of the time when stomach is empty and i feel better after eating meals (breakfast, lunch).

not feel very comfortable in my stomach after wake up in the morning till i have my breakfast.

please advise

Hello,

You are giving typical symptoms of duodenal ulcer. In minor variety it could be a stomach ulcer as well. However it is better to get confirmed by an Upper Gastrointerstine endoscope. It is 30 min procedure done by specialist Gastroenterologist only. Let me assure you that both are easily treatable once diagnosed correctly.

Please get this done as quickly as possible.

The above problem can occur in smokers, alcoholics, bacterial infection, too much of pain killer use.

Does both duodenal ulcer and stomach ulcer have same treatment or different,
how long will it take to cure duodenal ulcer and how long will it take to cure stomach ulcer.

do I have to take off from work or I can work during treatment

I shall be going for that test, Upper Gastrointerstine endoscope, as soon as possible

Hi,

Treatment is almost the same.
Antibiotics if there is Hpylori infection, anti ulcer drugs for 4 to 8 weeks.
Life style modificaitons
It is an outpatient treatment so you do not need to take off work.
