Brief Answer:
Some information

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX,

About the lump: What it may be depends on the location and the consistency.

If you have not had a thorough evaluation already, it should start with a physical exam to locate what organ the lump is on or near, then an initial X-ray or abdominal ultrasound or go directly to an abdominal CT scan.

Once the lump is located and a radiologist has evaluated it for size and whether it is solid or cystic (fluid filled), you will be referred to an appropriate physician (usually this will be a gastroenterologist) who will assess whether it needs to be biopsied to make a diagnosis. Then, depending on what that shows, it may either be watched or may need to be surgically removed or treated with radiation or chemotherapy if cancerous.

Some people can develop benign cysts on their pancreas and if it isn't growing, these are left alone.

I hope this information helps. Please let me know if I can provide further information or clarification.
