Brief Answer:
Most probably a lipoma.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thansk for your query, albeit short and specific.
To recapitulate: Male/62 - just discovered yesterday a baseball sized tissue mass in right thigh - inner aspect - 2 cm under skin - tender ..
Such a large lump can not grow overnight hence it was present for a long but since it was not asymptomatic you could not know it.
Well, once you know there is a lump, I would advise you the following:
High resolution Ultrasound and color doppler, this is usually sufficient to give an idea what it is.
Clinical examination by a General Surgeon helps further to have a proper diagnosis and go for the most proper surgery if required.
The most probable cause can be a lipoma, but there is still a differential diagnosis.

I hope this answer helps you to get the exact diagnosis.
Please feel free to ask for further relevant queries if you feel that there is a gap of communication.
