Question: I have been diagnosed with Belles Palsy...right cranial nerve and prescribed acyclovir 5x a day and Medrol dose pack by neurologist via skype with total visual field for both of us diagnosis Nov 10, 2016
am also using ophthalmic Vaseline for comfort and to help alleviate scratching of the cornea I don't seem to be getting any better and wearing gauze patches with paper tape over eye. do you have any recommendations or guidance for me? I am 76 years old, retired trauma nurse with BS from University of TX Health Science Center in 1982

Medicines prescribed to you are just fine. First thing which you need to understand is that it will not recover fully overnight. It will improve gradually,may be over several months or even upto one year.

However, several things which will help in recovery are-

Physiotherapy with facial exercises are must.
Facial massage and Electrical stimulation.

Please consult a physiotherapist for the needful.
