Question: Hello,
Since I am observing hyperactivity and inattentiveness in my daughter (3 years), I am giving HealthAid KidzOmega (Wild Berry) syrup to her in order to improve her brain development. But she is not ready to take the syrup directly and I have to hide it everytime in food. If she detects it there as well, she refuse to even taste it further.

Please suggest some other best Omega-3 Fish Oil supplements for kids but WITHOUT mercury, which are available in XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
Try other natural source of Omega 3 fatty acid

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day

Dear XXXX
Majority of Omega 3 Fatty acid fish oil supplements available in market have strong fishy smell and is totally unacceptable to children. If you have tried Healthaid Kidzomega, other preparations are unlikely to be acceptable to your XXXXXXX There are capsules available to mask the bitter taste and smell, but I would not recommend giving capsules to a 3 year old baby.

I would suggest other natural sources of Omega 3 fatty

1. Flaxseed/ Flaxseed oil
2. Walnuts

You can add Flaxseed oil (few drops) in her food preparation.

I would also suggest one preparation which will definitely fulfill her requirements of Omega 3 fatty acid

Ingredients needed: Ghee( 2 spoons), Whole wheat flour ( 2 spoons) , Pista( 50 gms), Cardomom ( 6 in number), Almonds( 50 gms), Khajur( Dried dates 50 gms), water/milk, Walnuts(50 gems), few flaxseeds

In a pan pour 2 spoons of ghee, heat it, add 2 spoons of wheat flour (Atta), cook it till golden brown on low flame till its slightly golden in color. Add 2 Cups of water or Milk and keep stirring it continuously making a thin water paste( same like sira consistency). To this add powdered mixture of rest of ingredients grinded in mixer ( pista, almond, khajur, cardomom, walnuts and flaxseeds).
Supplement baby breakfast with this recipe, and also can be consumed at night when baby is hungry. In this way his quota for milk will also be fulfilled. Also she will get adequate recommended allowance of Omega 3 fatty acid.

Soybeans are also rich in Omega 3 fatty acid.

Do get back to me if you need any further assistance, will be glad to assist you.

Wishing you and your family a very happy and healthy life.
