Suggest Remedy For Severe Joint Pain

default
Posted on Sat, 9 Jan 2016
Question: Please, I have a severe pain in my right thumb from the joint at my palm, up to the joint below my thumb nail. From that joint up to the end of my thumb, my thumb is numb. This occurs occasionally and is not constant. When this happens I also have a constant pain at bottom inside of my shoulder blade. (Near my spine) The pain will make me drop anything I'm trying to grasp. I realize it would be a short drive, but today it's driving me nuts1 Thank you for listening..

Brief Answer:
Can be an infection or carpal tunnel syndrome.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The pain in the right thumb that you have can be related to an infection in the area or a tendinous swelling or a carpal tunnel syndrome.
This is not likely to be related to the pain near the scapula. It is best to avoid all painful movements, check for any infections in the nail bed, do a hot compress in the area and continue with the mild pain killer.
Do get it examined from your orthopedician in case the pain is persistent for proper diagnosis.
I hope this answers your query.
In case you have additional questions or doubts, you can forward them to me, and I shall be glad to help you out.
Wishing you good health.
