Brief Answer:
Rule out causes of hair loss, melitane and Ca pantothenate for grey hair

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at healthcaremagic
There are many causes of hair loss and treatment depends on the cause.
The most common causes encountered by me are male pattern baldness, thyroid disorders, anemia, certain drugs, fevers like typhoid and malaria, chronic diseases and surgery.
I recommend you to undergo haemoglobin, serum ferritin levels and TSH test to rule out the anemia and thyroid disease.
I would also recommend you to upload photographs of your scalp to see whether you are having male pattern baldness.
You can get back to me once the results come so that we can manage it accordingly.
As far as grey hair are concerned I suggest my patients to apply melitane 1 percent gel on the affected areas twice daily and take tablet calcium pantothenate 100 mg twice daily. This needs to be continued for atleast 6 months to show any response. They will delay further greying of hair but will have little effect on hair that are already grey.
I hope to have answered your query.
I would be happy to clarify any further doubts.
Regards
Dr Asmeet

Brief Answer:
She having female pattern baldness, start with minoxidil and spironolactone

Detailed Answer:
I have seen the attached photographs and she is suffering from female pattern baldness which is hormonal and genetic in nature.
In such cases I recommend my patients to start with minoxidil 2 percent solution 1 ml twice daily to be applied on the affected scalp along with tablet spironolactone 50-100 mg daily. Strict contraception should be followed while taking spironolactone and it should be taken under supervision of a doctor.
These medicines are prescription drugs and you need to see the doctor in person to get them.
Treatment is needed for 4-6 months to reduce hair fall and 8-12 months to improve scalp coverage.Continued treatment is needed to maintain the benefit. The extent of hair fall reverts to pre treatment level 6 months after stopping minoxidil.

Dr Asmeet
