Suggest Remedy For Rectal Bleeding Caused By Hemorrhoids

Question: Just had colonoscopy a month ago said I had some hemorrhoids and diverticula but no problems come back in ten years. There is apparently rectal bleeding. Dark red liquid. Srools are not firm so does not seem to come from pushing or straining. I eat a high fiber diet with blueberry, blackberry and cherry whey protein shake once a day. Could berries be causing discoloration or is it blood?

Brief Answer:
Most probably berries. Stop for a few days and observe the nature of stools

Detailed Answer:
HI and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this stool discoloration. This is most likely caused by the berries and more so because the recent colonoscopy is clean. Like mentioned above, stop berries for a few days is that we can monitor the color of your stools. Certainly, this will change. Should this fail to resolve, then I will recommend a stool test to check if there is blood in your stools or not.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be. Above all, thanks for using our services.
