Hello,

Welcome to Health Care Magic.

Thanks for writing.

I am Dr.Muhammad Ahmad. I have read your question completely, i understand your concern and will try to help you in best way possible.

I Have considered the info you provided me and have seen the uploaded pictures closely, in my opinion this ia a bacterial skin infection and inflammation, it is spreading.

Now in this condition i believe you need proper antibiotics over the counter medication would not help much.

Most over the counter medications are made ti relieve pain and inflammation but infections do need antibiotics to get controlles so I would suggest you to visit you primary ASAP to get your boyfriend started with proper medication.

The doctor may want to run some tests like complete blood counts or a culture. And in my opinion he will start a proper antibiotic for the problem.

I would suggest you not to used steroid based creams and meds for that they may actually worsen the problem. Both of you dont have to panic though but a proper medical checkup is indeeded needed here.

I such situation I would suggest my patients Augmentic 1 gram twice a day and a topical gentamycin cream you can discuss the treatment options with your doctor.

I hope this answered your question, a
if you have more please feel free to ask.

Regrads.
