default
Posted on Sat, 12 Dec 2015
Question: For over a month o have had slightly runny nose mucus in throat and swollen glands. The gland in the right side went back to XXXXXXX and now just the left one is swollen. Last week I took a Z pack and it went away back to normal for the most part. I went after I was off z pack to get some alcoholic beverages and when I woke up it has returned again. I have tried Flonase and mucinex which neither one works. What can this be and how do I get rid of it?

Brief Answer:
May be suffering from rhinosinusitis with oropharyngitis

Detailed Answer:
Hi Sir,
I have gone through your query; it suggests that you may be suffering from the rhinosinusitis with oropharyngitis.

In this condition I personally suggest you that
1. You may go for throat swab culture and antibiotic sensitivity and take antibiotic according to test result.
2. Use nasal decongestant for at least five days and nasal wash for at least one month.
3. Take steam inhalation three times a day for at least five minutes.
4. Also continue your nasal spray with this treatment.
Please consult your doctor to rule out other disease and to reach the near diagnosis.

If is necessary then also go for CT scan paranasal sinuses.
