Brief Answer:
Needs evaluation for autistic spectrum disorder

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to the HCM

I understand your concerns. Sometimes children take time to adjust to new places such as schools. But at the same time, if non verbal behaviour, poor eye contact, failure to develop peer relationships and inability to initiate conversation is persistent, then evaluation forautistic spectrum disorders (ASD) is a must.

I would recommend you to visit a psychotherapist for complete evaluation. They will take required history and do clinical examination to come to a definitive diagnosis.

Don't worry. If present, ASD can be very well managed now a days with early diagnosis and management.

Hopefully it will be of help. I would be happy to help you in any further questions.

Take care

He is in school only since 15 days and he used to be with His grand parents till 2 months back. Should I wait for some more time or get him checked right now ?

Brief Answer:
Give him some time for adjustment

Detailed Answer:
Hi
If he is not interactive and friendly only in school and good at familiar places, then you may wait for a month. Hopefully he will improve.

In case he is not interactive and has poor eye contact even in familiar places, then an early visit to psychotherapist will be useful.

Take care
