Suggest Remedy For Pain On Wrist After Injury

Question: i broke my radius an d 1 wrist bone 3 weeksago and have had a cast for 3 weeks. last night i slept differently than i have since i broke my wrist. i woke up with a severe throbbing pain on other side of my wrist on outside of my hand above mt small finger. the pain is at my wrist but the pain goes down my hand and a few inches above mt wrist. it throbs and if feels like nerve pain. it really hurts and i have to eep my hand in one position and not move it . md took off my cast this am and i now have a brace. he wanted a cast but i did not. do you have any idea what happened to my wrist and what is going on and what cani do to relieve pain. i was given pain meds this am but only took them tonight after bumped my arm and it became extremely painful. please excuse errors but it's hard to type.

Thanks for your query.

Throbbing pain could be due to associated swelling compressing the superficial nerve fibers. It might happened due to tight plaster cast.It is better to go for a cast again. Elevate the limb to reduce the swelling. Take pain medicine as advised by your doctor. You can take tramadol preparation for severe pain after consulting your doctor.
