Brief Answer:
This type of pain may be a muscular pain or due to urinary infection.

Detailed Answer:
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.

I want to know a brief history related to your pain so please cooperate me-

1) Any history of weight lifting in last 1 to 2 weeks
2) How do you feel about pain when you rest.
3) Any complaints of increase frequency of urination.
4) Pain/pressure in my abdomen when you urinate

Right side back pain is very common and when it comes with history of radiating to abdomen then it favor diagnosis of urinary infection. I advise my patient to follow these steps with such history -

1) Do not lift any heavy weight specially in tilt position.
2) Sleeping in a comfortable position on a firm mattress.
3)Urine examination.
4) Ultrasound whole abdomen
5) Hot water fomentation twice a day.
6) Any local analgesic like - Volini Gel containing Diclofenac.
7) Stop smoking if you do.

Review after ultrasound and urine examination.

Your local doctor can help you perform tests.

Hope this answers your question.

Please do not hesitate for any query.

I will be happy to answer your questions.

No increased urination or pain during urination, thank you

I have been walking for exercise about 4 miles a day.
Pain is the same while I'm resting and worse when I go to sleep

Brief Answer:
It may be due to stone in kidney.

Detailed Answer:
This sharp pain is looking due to kidney stone.

After going through you all history, I advise you for Ultrasound whole abdomen.

Kidney stone can be rule out by Ultrasound whole abdomen.

I would also suggest you to drink plenty of fluids (8 to 10 glasses of water daily) and Tab Pan 40 (pantoprazole) at a dose of 40mg twice a day.

Ultrasound whole abdomen can be done with the help of your local doctor.

Thanx.
