Suggest Remedy For Pain In Head Post An Injury

Posted on Fri, 11 Dec 2015
Question: Hi.
I had struck my head with a wooden door on the upper left side of my head about 36 hours ago.
But that pain is gone.
However there is some pain on the upper right side of my head when I press the area.

I have migraine.
And I also suffer from Illness Anxiety Disorder.
I had done a brain CT Scan with contrast 6 months ago and everything was perfectly normal.

I had my eyes tested my two eye doctors to see if there was any intracranial pressure today only and both said everything was normal.

I am worried it might be brain tumor or multiple sclerosis.

When I don't press the area there is no pain.
When I do,there is

What should I do?Is it anything serious?

I am also having a slight vomiting feeling since yesterday.

1.Since yesterday morning

I have been very anxious since September and got diagnosed with Illness Anxiety Disorder in October for which my psychiatrist has prescribed me Shine 25mg and Zapiz 0.25 mg.

I am not able to comment on your last query as I'm not exactly sure.

I did cut my hair 2-3 days before.

And I banged my head with a wooden door yesterday morning
but that was on the left side.

I a have migraine.
this pain is only when I press the area or I lie down on the pillow.
Not always though.
But sometimes.

I am currently having Pan 40 also and a lot of gas is passing everyday.
This is what my surgeon prescribed me.
I had an anal polyp removal operation on the 5th of this month.
It was not malignant.

Brief Answer:
Mental relaxation exercises/Observe.

Detailed Answer:
Hi xxxxxxxxxxxxx,
Thanks for being in follow-up and providing further details.

I want to assure you that this pain is not suggestive of brain tumor or multiple sclerosis,by any means.
This appears to be Stress headache.'Stress' of stress headache refer to scalp muscles which are under stress.
I suggest you to start doing regular mental relaxation exercises like meditation/yoga and your pain should improve in a few days.If it persists,we shall put you on a trial of medicines.

If you are too concerned about the fears related to brain tumor, you may get a Brain MRI study with contrast.

If you have some further questions,I shall be glad to have you in follow-up else please close the thread, rate it and write a review about the answer.

I did a Brain CT SCAN with contrast just 6 months back.
everything was perfectly normal.
I did two eye exams today because eye doctors can detect tumors

Both said everything was perfectly normal.

Brief Answer:
Be assured.

Detailed Answer:
Hi xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx,
Thanks for being in follow-up.

I just mentioned MRI because MRI is more sensitive than CT scan.Though, CT scan with contrast being normal almost rules out a brain tumor. You should not worry. I already mentioned that this appears to be stress headache. Please be reassured and start doing mental relaxation exercises. This pain should go off soon.

If you have no further questions, please write a review and rate the thread.
