doctor
Answered by Dr. Vivek Chail (15 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
Low immunity causes increased chance of infections in our body

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
Please find my observations below.

1. Immunity is the inherent ability within us to fight various types of disease and illness.

2. Just like soldiers go to fight a war, similarly out bodies produce white blood cells and antibodies to protect us when an infection by bacteria, virus or any organism enters our body.

3. These white blood cells are the main components of the immune system and are ready to fight and kill offending infection causing organisms.

4. When there is low immunity, these white blood cells and antibodies become less effective in fighting against disease causing agents.

5. Therefore in any human with low immunity, there will be increased chance of getting an infection.

Hope this answers your question. Please feel free to correct any oversight in my interpretation of your problems and discuss them in detail as per your requirements.

Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.

Regards,
Dr.Vivek

Brief Answer:
There are diseases causing low WBC and might lead to severe infections

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing back with an update.

Low WBC can have a cause and that cause needs to be evaluated and treated.

Low white blood cell (WBC) can be due to the following reasons.
1. Viral infections that temporarily affect bone marrow function causing reduced WBC generation.

2. Congenital disorders leading to diminished bone marrow function

3. Cancer or other diseases that damage bone marrow and affect WBC count

4. Autoimmune disorders in which there is destruction of WBC or bone marrow cells

5. Severe infections that consume WBC quicker than they can be produced

6. Medications and drugs that destroy WBC or damage bone marrow

Low WBC can be due to a disease causing it and it can further cause tendency of infections. Even common infections like pneumonia can get severe quickly in a person having a low WBC count.

Death is a condition when the body can no longer sustain its function. It can happen due to the disease causing low WBC or severe infection that is not responding to treatment.

Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.

Dr.Vivek
