Suggest Remedy For Irregular Breathing, Racy Pulse When Having Genetic Disorder

default
Posted on Tue, 13 Jan 2015
Question: I am on Xarelto, with genetic disorder, 7 times more likely to have DVT. Have had 3 PE's, 2 with 1-wk hosp treatment, -- correct diagnosis and successful treatment since 2009. Have been having panic attacks of more and more severity since 2008, but therapy unsuccessful. I have a request for appointment with regular physician asap, but a more than 2 - 3 times over the last couple of weeks I thought I was having a heart attack or stroke, shallow, irregular breathing, racey pulse. I was in a remote, rural area at work. I was too scared to go to hospital there, and it was Xmas. I am back home now, doing deep breathing exercises, feet up, and feeling fine. Is Gene NKRT3 a test I should ask for?

Brief Answer:
NTRK3 gene testing not needed

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX

Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

Let me assure you that NOT ALL people who have a possibility of developing a disease finally suffer from it. So, you need not unnecessarily get bothered about that. By virtue of your country of residence, you might be 7 times more prone to some other disease as compared to some other country but that does not mean that you need to be bothered about it and moreso because not all persons of your country are going to develop the disease anyway; only a fraction would. So, it is just a matter of approach to unfavourable facts.

The Five Steps of AWARE will help you in overcoming panic attacks.
A Acknowledge & Accept
W Wait & Watch (and maybe, Work)
A Actions (to make yourself more comfortable)
R Repeat
E End
You can find more about this by searching on the internet.

Let's take a look at what each step entails.

Although NTRK3 may be a factor in panic disorder, not all persons with panic attacks have this gene. Moreover, it would serve no good even if you find out that you really have the gene; it will just help you to panic further. So, I would not suggest you to go for the test.

Hope that helps.
