Brief Answer:
Use an SPF 30 factor sunscreen. Remove the cause.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX,

1. I will first advise you to use a sunscreen lotion with a minimum SPF of 30.
2. The most important advice here is to avoid hydroquinone based creams.
These can cause permanent damage to your skin, though initially they might
cause a lightening of the skin. Please avoid such creams to prevent regretting
the decision later on.
3. Once the preventive measure is taken, we might explore options for removing pigmentation.
4. Then you might want to explore the option of using "Melanite". this cream does not require any special prescription. It is very effective in most cases, even in cases where actual burns have caused
the hyperpigmentation. Perhaps this might satisfy your needs.

I would like your opinions about this.

Brief Answer:
Melanite and Sunscreen lotion can be applied in tandem with each other.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX,

Pardon me for the delay.

1. Indeed "Melanite" is meant to be applied on hyperpigmented lesions, and can be applied along with the sunscreen.

2. The creams can be applied with each other, either first or second in order. There are no issues here.

3. You need not, and kindly do not stop with the "sunscreen" lotion.

4. Once you receive an appreciable response with the melanite cream, you can stop it.

Thanks,
Dr. Neel Kudchadkar
