Question: Around January I had terrible Flu and sinus infection symptoms, Headache was the worst of it. Hard to breath but not a cough. The emergency determined I had the flu, I took Theraflu or what ever they give you for the flu entirely and my fever persisted aches pains infection so I was given antibiotics. I felt as if it helped a bit, still had trouble breathing, inside of my nose would swell, body fatigue. Pressure in my face, neck. A few months later breathing was horrendous switching sides in bed would make me out of breath, headaches and sinus infection like symptoms as well as infection in my throat, Body fatigue. I was again prescribed antibiotics. This helped with fever but the horrible body fatigue sinus pressure flared quickly again. I go to the Dr. he says I have allergies(saw no infection) Take Claritin which makes me drool sleep but does not ease my symptoms. As of now doing a simple task fatigues me, I was a work horse. Headaches. no coughing labored breathing. Worried last night I remember having a conversation but it was as if I was under the influence(fuzzy) and I didn't even take aspirin yesterday. I don't drink, smoke or do drugs. I am sleeping all the time. I work from home and I never go outside, rarely, and flare-ups don't happen after I have been outside. I am 40..overweight bad diet to much sugar but not awful, I used to exercise all the time because I liked it.

Brief Answer:
Sinusitis can be the reason.

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thank you for asking HCM.

I have gone through your query. Your problem can be most likely due to sinusitis. Sinuses can get blocked and injected. It can even give allergic reactions. General body discomfort as well as chronic fatigue syndrome is a symptom of this.
Do you have nasal obstruction while breathing. ?
Do you still feel heaviness of head or sinus pressure. ?
Are you allergic to anything like dust. ?

Examination with an ENT specialist will help to rule out the condition. X ray of para nasal sinus will be needed in case of positive signs. Nasal decongestant sprays , chewable vitamin C and steam inhalation can be tried initially. If that is not helping then irrigation and drainage of sinus should be done.

Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear
Thanks.

Thank you. I have an awful headache and everyday tasks are very difficult. I am willing to make drastic changes not to feel this way. What can I do. Headache pain relievers don't seem to work nor does things like Claritin, Sudafed. I am very sensitive to and react odd to medication. I don't want to feel so awful anymore. Help, please.

Brief Answer:
Examination with an ENT specialist should be done.

Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome.

Thank you for your follow up query.

Sudafed which is a pseudoephedrine and claritin loratidine won't be much effective if your sinuses are blocked for long time.
Steam inhalation and local nasal decongesant sprays like xylometazoline willbe helpful. Steam inhalation will give you more relief from head ache also.
Examination by an ENT specialist should be done to rule out the condition and for proper management. X ray of paranasal sinuses should be done also. In case of any effusion puncture of sinus , irrigation and drainage will be done.

With proper management you will be better. Taking chewable vitamin C will be helpful in getting rid off recurrent sinus inflammation.

Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
