Question: I have received a marriage proposal and she is 25 years old.She is saying her hands and foot perspired abnormally.Specially, when she is writing, using creams, working in the kitchen etc.and doing special things and hot days.Because of that she is afraid of taking a baby to her hand, work in the kitchen etc.So is this cureable disease? What are the medicines available for cure this? Can you tell a name of a cream to apply affected areas for cure this issue? Or any thing else to cure this? Will this be an obstruction for future marriage life? Will this be affected to children badly?

Brief Answer:
Anti-perspirant topical application, iontophoresis, botox injections

Detailed Answer:
Hello sir and welcome.

Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. Yes of course it is curable, the condition is called hyperhidrosis of the palms. I shall go ahead and list the possible treatment options:

+Anti-perspirant topical applicants available over-the-counter and can be easily used and applied
+Iontophoresis: Is a procedure that can be conducted in a short period of time using a device at the doctors office and has about a 80-85 % success rate
+Botox injections

These are the most commonly used and effective treatment options, and any one can be used or all together as well.

I am almost sure this will not be a problem or obstruction for future family life sir. Please do not worry, and also write to me anytime if you have any concerns about your future wife and I shall help you with everything. So please do not hesitate to write to me about anything, I am always here to help.

Best wishes.

I would like to know can this be cureable permanent by anti perspirant?
E.g. Hydrosal gel
doctor
Answered by Dr. Shoaib Khan (7 hours later)
Brief Answer:
This is not a serious problem; anti-perspirants may or may not help

Detailed Answer:
Hello once again sir.

I am unsure about the effectivity of hydrosal gel on the palms of the hands, but I would recommend the application of:

1. Dehydral

2. Drysol

Hydrosal should also help, although all these anti-perspirants may or may not help because anti-perspirants do not have a 100 % success rate.

Best wishes.

Brief Answer:
I might get into trouble for shifting our discussion elsewhere sir

Detailed Answer:
Hello once again sir.

I would love to join there, but I think it is best that we keep our discussions on this site. Main reason being that we have been strictly informed not to share our personal details or have direct access with our patients out of this forum, or we could lose our credentials here. I hope you understand sir.

Best wishes.

Answered by Dr. Shoaib Khan (6 hours later)
Brief Answer:
I recommend anti-perspirant+Iontophoresis

Detailed Answer:
Hi sir.

In all honesty there are no available oral medications, the best used techniques are the anti-perspirant topical applications and iontophoresis (proceudre conducted using a device) which is effective in killing the sweat glands.

I hope this helps sir.

Best wishes.
