Brief Answer:
no risk of pregnancy

Detailed Answer:
Hello sir, thanks for trusting health care magic.
I understand your anxiety related to the issue.
There is nothing to worry as there is no risk of pregnancy because
- you did intercourse on day 8 of cycle when there is no egg to form a baby
- she took ipill within desired time
- no ejaculation inside vagina.
All those symptoms were just a side effect of progesterone and nothing else which in turn are very common.
She will most likely get her periods well on time but there can be a delay because of the effect of ipill which is not harmful.
Take care.

Brief Answer:
Repeat pregnancy test after one week

Detailed Answer:
I understand your anxiety and confusion related to the issue.
This delay and mid cycle spotting is due to levonorgestrel intake and not pregnancy.
There was no egg to get fertilized when you had sex on 8th day.
But since you had unprotected sex on day 27th also, there can be a delayed ovulation due to emergency pill so can cause pregnancy.
So right now just wait for a week for periods and in case you don't get them till then, then repeat the pregnancy test again.
If test still stays negative then no risk of pregnancy but from next cycle either practice safe sex or opt a regular contraceptive method.

Hello doctor..
Thanks for the reply..
.In case if pregnancy is confirmed..in the coming week..due to our 27th day encounter..and we decide we don't want to continue with it..will it be considered as 2 weeks or actual 6 weeks from d last period..also is it advisable to go for surgical procedure ..just after implantation..or we should actually wait for another 4 weeks of development..

Brief Answer:
Ultrasound advised

Detailed Answer:
Pregnancy will be calculated as 14 days plus days past 27th may and it will be best if you get an ultrasound in case of positive pregnancy test and then plan for termination in case you don't want pregnancy.
But don't try termination without visiting a doctor or it can result in excessive bleeding or incomplete abortion.
Take care

Sorry to be a trouble..
It's just the anxiety killing us..even though was no ejaculation on our 27th day..and I had urinated more than three times before the sex..is it still possible for the precum to lead to any conception..I always thought ipill will delay ovulation by 5 days...does it seriously push ovulation by more than 10 days..again apologies for being a trouble..

Answered by Dr. Manisha Jain (1 hour later)
Brief Answer:
Just wait for her periods

Detailed Answer:
There is indeed no trouble as I'm here to help you anytime and solve all the queries.

You can ask anything and I will be glad to clear your doubts.
This is indeed a good thing that urinated before sexual activity as it decreases the chances of precum manyfold.
So we are kind of safe that way.

But the main issue stays of ovulation which can be very erratic after emergency pill intake.
Period of 5 days is no rule and infact ovulation frankly has no rules in irregular cycles.
But good point in our favor is no ejaculation and that you urinated before the sexual encounter.
So in my opinion we have nothing in hand but to wait for her periods.

Wish you luck

Brief Answer:
All due to ipill

Detailed Answer:
These symptoms are suggestive of upcoming periods.
They will come in a couple of days only and are deranged because of ipill intake and will come in full flow soon.
Don't be stressed as there is no risk of pregnancy.

Brief Answer:
Yes XXXXXXX to ipill

Detailed Answer:
Yes dear I definitely saw that and there is nothing to worry.
And as far as ipill is concerned it can cause problems in menstruation for 3 months even.
Right now you have no chance of pregnancy.
So avoid ipill intake and preserve it to be used only in cases of emergency like condon rupture or slippage (no wonder it is also called emergency pill).
Take care.

Signs of upcoming periods

Detailed Answer:
These are just related to the hormonal imbalance and can be an indication of upcoming periods.
So she might get her periods despite of being on meparate and in case she starts bleeding please stop meparate there and let the full flow carry on.
In case very uncomfortable then give her some simple analgesic like paracetamol.
Take care.

Brief Answer:
Wait till blood test after 1 week

Detailed Answer:
The risk of ectopic pregnancy is around 0.4% and in case the pregnancy test is negative then chances decreases manifold.
So just wait for the blood test and if that is normal and pain still persists then we will do an ultrasound and then decide accordingly.
All the best

Hello Doctor,

This is a follow up,
my gf stopped her meprate dose after 5 days around 29th XXXXXXX We also did a HPT on 7th July ( 32 days after last intercourse). This HPT was negative. She started her bleeding from 8th night. The local gyno is now advising to go on loette for 21 days to get the cycle back to normal. Kindly advise us..is the bleeding she is having is due to the meprate withdrawal or normal cycle starting back. Is there still any worry abt pregnancy?..considering 32 days HPT negative. ?..also advise shd we go on loette...to get the cycle right?..

Brief Answer:
Regular period

Detailed Answer:
Hello sir, good to hear that she got her periods and pregnancy test as expected came negative only.
Yes this is her normal period which has come after withdrawl of meparate and now her next cycle will be coinciting with this period date only.
But in some patients there can be irregularity in periods due to this for a couple of months more so as your gynecologist advised it is better to take loette for a cycle or two to regulate the rhythm of her periods.
And yes definitely now there is no risk of pregnancy.
Take care

Also she had started her loette course b4 2 days (friday night). kindly let me know your thoughts on this.

Also read on net,
in case withdrawal bleeding occurs due to meprate..is it a confirmatory sign of absence of pregnancy?..

Brief Answer:
Hormone disturbance

Detailed Answer:
Yes sir, you are absolutely right that it is a confirmatory sign of non pregnant status in case patient bleeds after meprate withdrawl.
As regards her menstrual flow is concerned it will vary from light to heavy for 1-2 cycles because of hormone imbalance.
In general at least we are sure of the fact that there is no pregnancy and thus nothing to worry and that this hormone disturbance will be relieved soon.
