Brief Answer:
Mostly upper respiratory infection.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to health care magic,

Throat pain, cold, change in voice and blocked nose symptoms are likely due to inflammation of throat which in turn could be because of upper respiratory infection (pharyngitis, laryngitis or epiglotitis most probably).

Majority of cases throat pain are due to viral infection, but in some cases it could also be related to bacterial infection (like streptococcal pharyngitis).

You are likely to be having viral throat infection with cold.

Let me know some more information about you

1) Do you have painful swallowing?
2) Do you have cough?
3) Do you have fever or body pain?

However, you should take below mentioned symptomatic treatment to get some relief.

1) Take pain killers with anti-inflammatory combination (like combiflam tablets) twice or thrice daily (but not more than 4 tablets per day) for throat pain which are available over the counter.

They will also help to reduce further inflammation in throat and thereby will help to subside symptoms quickly.

2) Antihistamines like levo-cetrizine 10 mg (brand name L-Dio 1) twice daily for cold and blocked nose.

3) Steam inhalation with warm salt water gargles which will certainly help for symptomatic relief.

4) Try fluticasone nasal spray (Brand Name: Flonase or Veramyst) which is a steroid preparation for the nose and works as an anti inflammatory medication.

It is used for inflammation in the nose (rhinitis) which is usually a seasonal occurrence in many people.

Taking fluticasone will reduce the swelling and inflammation in the nose and the mucus formed will be less, making you feel more comfortable and decrease the stuffy nose sensation.

This should be taken as two sprays in to each nostril and you will feel the benefits a day after you start using it.

5) Antibiotics will not require here unless there is bacterial infection diagnosed by the blood counts but very unlikely in your case.

Hope this will help you and get back to me with more information as I asked.

Thanks and Regards,

Brief Answer:
Upper respiratory infection.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the immediate response.

If you have a cough and painful swallowing which is clearly indicative of throat inflammation and it is mostly due to some viral infection.

You may continue to take above treatment which will be available over the counter.

However, you can also start oral antibiotics (like levofloxacin 500 mg) for a short course (like 3 days) to prevent super infection and speedy recovery from throat symptoms but you will have to consult some local physician or GP for it since antibiotics are prescription based drugs.

Hope this helps.
