Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Indomethacin could not cause such pain. This medicine can trigger peptic ulcer or stomach inflammation. It would give upper middle abdominal pain, but not a back pain. So the pain is rather not associated with Indomethacin intake.
Pain in the kidney area can be caused by kidney issues like a stone or an infection. There should be frequent urinating or burning while urinating as well.
Pancreas cancer usually does not give any pain in the beginning. Jaundice can be the firs symptom of if. Pancreas pain usually starts in the upper middle abdomen and radiates to the back.
So this does not sound like a pancreas cancer, however as he has family history of this cancer, abdominal CT should be done to make sure there is no lump in the pancreas.
He should also have blood work and urine analysis done to check for the possible pain reason.
Spine disc problem should be also considered if any other issues will be ruled out.

Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
