Suggest Remedy For UTI

Posted on Mon, 21 Sep 2015
Question: Hello, I am currently on holidays and starting from today started to feel symptoms of a UTI that was getting worse as the day passed. I went to the ambulance and they prescribed me antibiotics, but the problem is that the pharmacy is opened only from tomorrow morning. Since I was feeling really ill, I took a tablet I found in my purse: a leftover from a UTI treatment I had last time: one Pivmellicinam tablet. However, the problem is that I have only ONE tablet and the medicine should be taken every 8 hrs. I suppose I will develop reaistance to it, but I had no choice. I would like to know if there is a way to manage my symptoms in the transitive period, until I get the prescribed medicine from the pharmacy? Thank you for helping!

Brief Answer:
I suggest to get a urinalysis test done to confirm

Detailed Answer:
HI,

I suggest to get a urinalysis test done to confirm if you ave UTI.

Based on the information you have provided, I guess that you been prescribed Pivmellicinam again this time also.

And you are concerned that it would be more than 16 hours to take another tablet.

If this is the concern, I want reassure not to worry and continue with second tablet as soon as you get a chance to buy. Missing one dose will not necessarily cause resistance if you continue wit next dose and prescribed schedule immediately.

Hi, thank you for answering. I wasn't prescribed Pivmellicinam, but another antibiotic and that's my concern. There will be 10 hours between my dose of Pivmellicinam and that other antibiotic (Novocef). Best regards, XXXXX
