Suggest Remedies For Trichomycosis Pubis

Posted on Wed, 5 Oct 2016
Question: I just turned 55 yrs. old and upon getting a shower, I was checking out my groin area, and noticed my pubic hair was different in the area where my legs meet my balls. It looks like they have been singed? Upon closer examination I noticed at the point where my pubic hair comes out of my skin it looks like each hair has a off yellow film, or coating that is exiting either around the shaft of the hair or with it beside it. Is this normal?

Brief Answer:
It is likely to be Trichomycosis pubis

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome.
I have gone through your query.
Based on the informationn I feel it is Trichomycosis pubis, is a relatively common superficial bacterial colonization of the hair shafts. But for confirmation examination is required, so if possible upload the pictures. Granular concretions, which are yellow, black, or red, adhere to the hair shaft and clinically characterize this condition.
It results from corynebacterial overgrowth on hair shafts in moist regions of the body.
The fastest method of treatment is to shave the affected hair. Benzoyl peroxide (gel or wash formulations) aids in treatment and prevents recurrence.
When above measures doesn't aid much help then, topical antibiotic preparations such as clindamycin or erythromycin are considered.
Hope this helps
