Brief Answer:
Small soft tissue infection vs ganglion cyst

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome,

In looking at your picture, I see a small reddened area in the middle of the tattoo where the tattoo makes an inverted U. Is that what you are referring to?

If that is what you are referring to, it is likely a small soft tissue infection and will likely resolve easily with applying heat to it for several minutes 3-5 times per day for the next few days. You can use a hot wet wash cloth or hold it under very warm water or soak in the sink to do this.

If you the lump you are talking about is farther up the wrist (which I can't see), where the wrist bends, it may be a ganglion cyst. These are benign pockets of synovial fluid in a tendon and can be moved a bit. They can reabsorb, or you can have it removed by a doctor.

If you can, would you please repost as clear a picture as possible and put some marker on your arm as to what we should look at? You can put a piece of masking tape with an arrow next to it perhaps. Thanks.
