Suggest Remedies For Swollen Thumb Post Injury

default
Posted on Fri, 24 Jun 2016
Question: 3 months back I fell down(while walking on the snow/Ice on the driveway). when I fell down I had all my force on hand as a result my right thumb had swallen. I went to Emergency, got the x-ray. Doctor said that everything looks good and swelling went off within 2 - 3 weeks. After 3 weeks my right thumb looks ok(without any swelling) but I still have little pain on the joint.

last week I realized that the Joint had swollen. the Swollen part is very hard(like bone). I would like to know if it is "bone swelling" or "Lymp node swelling"?

I will attach the picture of my right thumb.

Thanks

Brief Answer:
This is not lymphnode

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case. Swelling in our thumb is most probably fluid accumulation in joint and it is not bone or lymphnode. Since it is very small joint so even fluid can appear quite hard. If their is no pain and you are able to do all your work then there is no need to be worried about this. You will be fine.
You can get x ray of the thumb to confirm the diagnosis. If their is any abnormality then it will be present on x rays.
Please share x rays with me.Let me know if their is any other followup questions.
Thanks
