Suggest Remedies For Small Itchy, Burning Bumps On The Neck Area

default
Posted on Wed, 3 Aug 2016
Question: It began as a few small bumps on my neck area, followed within a day or so, itching, burning sensation. I scratched my skin, and broke the skin at the top of the bumps, which scabbed, and Within a few days, it has spread to include both front and back of neck, spreading upward and downward with first, itching, burning sensation and sometimes bumps.
I'm now going into week 2 and the itching, burning sensation with bumps, is becoming severe. I've tried cold, wet compress, aloe vera gel, and cortaid. All these help some, but not for long periods.

Brief Answer:
Zoster virus

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

YOu seem to have zoster virus eruptions. Did you have herpes or chicken pox earlier?
These recurrences are common in old age when stressful or during low immunity conditions.
Can you upload a picture to confirm the same?
Your current treatment at home does not work. You need better pain medications like Dolaxamide, which can be prescribed by your local doctor or RN. YOu can apply CALAMINE lotion which can ease the itching.
