Suggest Remedies For Severe Pain In Left Hip Joint

default
Posted on Wed, 29 Jun 2016
Question: It's been quite some days now I have been undergoing severe pain in my left hip joint. Nearly a year back I started playing Badminton which (I suppose) triggered this problem. Since then, whenever I do any physical exercise or play any outdoor game the pain starts coming back.
In normal day-to-day activity also, while bending I feel a pinch/strain in my heel. Now the pain is spreading towards my chest and I am unable to sleep at night due to breathing difficulties.

I have consulted many ortho & physio specialists but with no XXXXXXX !
All of them prescribe me to take some muscle relaxer(pain killer) and do some physiotherapy as there is no abnormality found in X-ray reports.

Now I doubt this is because of any vein compression. My question is what should I do now ? Do I need to consult any Neuro or Spine specialist? or should I go for MRI scan ?

Brief Answer:
Upload images of xray

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Hip pain at this age may be related to sacroiliatis with involvement of sacroiliac joint too.
Is there any problem in sitting crossed leg?
Please upload xray and other reports along with prescription.
Any sensory loss over lower limb, low back pain or urinary complains?
Any involvement of upper limb joints?
In non responsive cases, Mri may be required.
Follow with reports and clinical details.

Thank You Doctor,

Thanks for checking up on me. Please find my answers to your queries below. I have also attached the reports.

Is there any problem in sitting crossed leg ?

A: No, there is no pain observed in sitting. Only while bending I feel a pinch in my heel. Sensation like plucking of vein

Any sensory loss over lower limb, low back pain or urinary complains?

A: No sensory loss in lower limb & no urinary complains. However during pain, I find much difficulties in getting up from bed and going to bed also.

Any involvement of upper limb joints?

A: No involvement of upper limb joints.

Just to add, currently I am feeling difficulties in breathing during sleep and also mild pain in my heel during bending. I am seriously afraid of going for a long drive (bike) or doing any physical exercise. Kindly advise.

Brief Answer:
Visit and get a consultation from a rheumatologist

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX
I have gone through all your reports and xray.
HLA B27 positivity and sacroiliatis is suggestive of ankylosing spondylosis.
You need to visit and consult a rheumatologist rather than orthopedic surgeon.
Better management will be done under a rheumatologist.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
