Brief Answer:
Likely to be a viral infection

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone through your query and understand your concerns. Most often such fevers are due to certain viral infections. Irrespective of treatment, such fevers usually last for 5-7 days. All you need to do is to give Crocin (paracetamol) whenever there is a rise of temperature more than 100°F (at a minimum interval of 3-4 hours). Also give tepid sponging. If the temperature does not subside on use of paracetamol, Meftal-P (mefenamic acid) can be given since it is more efficacious. The dose is 7.5mg/kg/dose to be given at a minimum interval of 6 hours between doses (independent of dose of paracetamol). You might however need to get it prescribed by your doctor. Also give some antiallergic like cetirizine syrup once daily for next few days and that will take care of the sneezing. Give steam inhalation. Water in form of vapor will reach deep inside and will help in diluting the cough.

If she is otherwise active you need not worry but if the child becomes lethargic you would need to take her to a doctor and get her investigated. If the child has chills and rigors, you need to get her urine checked to rule out urinary tract infection. If the fever lasts for more than 7 days you need to go for further evaluation to rule out causes like enteric fever. Please be patient. Most likely the fever will subside before that.
