Question: My 27 year old son sat on a train for over 48 hours and now has an area at the top of his thigh/buttock that is numb. There is no swelling or pain or discoloration. What should he do to help it resolve?

Brief Answer:
He should wait.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Numbness is a sign of nerve injury (similar when you sleep on your hand for example). This injury is caused by a very long compression. It is reversible, but it must take some time (a week or even month). So all he should do is to be patient and wait.

Hope this helps.
Regards.
