Suggest Remedies For Itchy Rashes All Over The Body In A 11 Year Old
Question: my 11 yr old has a condition that has lasted 2 wks. it started with a sore throat, then he developed a rash on his lower stomach, near the groin, and on his right elbow. huge bumps. fever of 102, then completely broke out from head to toe, even on his feet. itches like crazy. they said he had scabies, but the treatment didn't yield ANY effects. I'M DESPERATE! And, YES, he's been fully immunized, and has not left the country. his total body broke out about a week ago after I gave him a cup of hot tea before bed.

Tried to upload pictues, but failed. The treatment was 4 pills at one time, and a cream Permethrin Cream 5%. which was to be used on his entire body from head to feet overnight. Says only one treatment needed, we did 2 nights. No Family members were treated, with the exception that ALL household bedding was washed and dried on hottest cycles. No one else has any symptoms. AS previously stated. This started a rash on his groin area, Then days later a cluster of large bumps on his arm alongside his elbow, with Chills and a sore throat following that. Then a high fever of 102.4. NEXT measles looking bumps from head to toe AFTER drinking herbal tea before bed the previous night. Since when does scabies involve all of that?

Speaking about the treatment, usually application of permethrin on three consecutive nights is advised and it is supposed to be done simultaneously for all family contacts as well. However, since he also has a fever, it is unlikely that it is due to scabies. Rather, a viral exanthem is more likely. I would be better able to comment once I can check the images. As of now give him paracetamol to bring down the temperature when needed.
