Question: My 7 month old baby may have swallowed a small piece of diaper plastic bag. It's ripped off so v assume that she swallowed it. What should we do now? Does it get dissolved in the stomach? Further, she has had vomits last evening with white watery vomits and then transparent vomits. She is on medication. Vomistop and neutrolin has been prescribed. Not sure if it is because of indigestion. Stool is normal. Should we be really concerned about the plastic that she ripped off from huggies diaper bag?

Brief Answer:
Observe carefully for passage of plastic piece in stool

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for choosing this platform

As there is no cough or breathing difficulty, I assume the plastic part is in intestine not in the airway. Most of the foreign body in intestine comes out in stool within 3-4 days of ingestion and dies not causes much problem. As plastic material is not digestible it won't get dissolved.
I suggest you to observe closely for the plastic part in stool.
Vomiting can be due to gastritis. Continue giving vomistop(contains domperidone an antiemetic) and nutrolin.
If vomiting gets frequent or there is abdominal fullness consult you pediatrician for proper evaluation.

I hope this helps.
