Brief Answer:
Medical treatment is with Oral and topical antifungals

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us

I have read your question and I have noted your concern.

For toenail onychomycosis, medical treatment is the first line of treatment. Oral antifungals e.g either Terbinafine Or Fluconazole Or Itraconazole are commonly used to treat onychomycosis.
Oral antifungals are prescription medications and often require weeks of either continuous Or pulse dosing treatment of onychomycosis and therefore should be used only under supervision of a medical practitioner e.g Oral Terbinafine requires 6-8 weeks treatment for fingernail onychomycosis and 12 weeks treatment for toenail onychomycosis.
Besides topical antifungals in the form of nail lacquer containing either amorolfine 5% Or Ciclopirox 8%, as active ingredients are also used either alone or in combination with Oral antifungals.
Laser are not yet widely used for treatment of onychomycosis. They have produced variable results across various studies and are not first line of treatment.
