default
Posted on Thu, 13 Oct 2016
Question: I have a rash on groin area. Won't go away. It's been extremely hot and I've perspired a lot.
Also been in woods a lot.
Don't think it's red bug bites . But can't rule out anything yet.
I've tried hydrocortisone, also anti fungal. ? Not sure what to do

Brief Answer:
Very likely a fungal infection. It will need time to heal.Keep the area dry

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thank you for using HCM to post your question.

I read carefully your question and I understand your concern.

The place where you describe the rash its typical of a fungal infection. I confirm that what you should be using to heal it- is an antifungal cream.

As most important it is also to keep the area dry.
It will need time to heal, sometimes it takes up to two months including you being careful to keep the area dry.

So, my recommendations would be:
-- Use boric alcohol to soak the area before the applying the cream.
-- Apply the antifungal cream twice/day regularly until it heals, thick layer, and try to avoid the cream getting wiped off for at least 1 hours until the skin absorbs it (staying in underwear for example if possible)

Hope this is helpful. I know you have maybe done the above suggestions, but I wan't to reinforce you that you are using the correct treatment.
