Suggest Remedies For A Bruise Under The Foot

Posted on Mon, 20 Mar 2017
Question: I have a vein that is on the bottom on my foot that it looks like it is bruised. It is bulging alittle and it is sore when I step on it. I don't know what to do to treat it because I am always stepping on it. I try to stay off of it and apply ice when I get home. I walk around a lot at work and that doesn't help either.

Brief Answer:
As discussed in details below.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
To recapitulate: Female/60 - vein on the bottom of foot - looks like bruised - little bulging - sore on stepping on it - ice on getting home - walk around a lot at work ...
Please give additional information:
Since when is the problem present?
Please post clear and focused photographs as they help to give on-the-spot diagnosis in some cases.
Where exactly is the vein and what is the size?
Does the swelling and/or pain reduce or increase in the morning the moment you step down from the bed and the progress throughout the day.

Till then I would advise you the following:
Take an anti-inflammatory medication like Ibuprofen if it suits at 8 hourly interval.
Elevate the foot above heart level when in lying down position.
Warm saline fomentation whenever possible.

Awaiting for your feedback and photos.

It is on the bottom left side of my left foot. It is probably the size of a pea. It stays about the same throughtout the day. I don't know if I stepped on a small litter stone or I know I was cleaning and positioning my foot a certain way so I could have injured it then. I noticed it shortly after.

Should I be concerned?

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your partial feedback.
Clear photographs really help a lot, please post if possible.

From the description you have given, this may be a cornified tissue or a bunion or a small abscess.
