Suggest Preventive Measures For Tick Bite

Question: What should I do after having a tic bite here in El dorado Hills, CA
I'm in good health except for stage 4 Prostate cancer currently controlled on ADT for three years and with a 0 PSA.

We live next to a creek. We have a 3.5 month old toy Poodle who has the run of our garden which is fenced. I have looked at dog's hairless areas and see no tics. Tic was clearly identified by web site and I have a good photo of it. My concern is about any needed preventative vs tic born diseases.

Brief Answer:
Following preventive measures after tick bite...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I have gone through your medical history carefully and understood your concern.

If you have the photo of the tick, can you please send it to me ? (you can simply upload it at the reports section).

Preventive measures for tick borne diseases after exposure include:

- cleaning the bite area well with rubbing alcohol and iodine
- as XXXXXXX is an endemic area, a single dose of Doxycycline 200 mg should be ok if taken within 72 hours following the bite
- watch for a signs of fever, rash, or any other unusual symptoms

All the best.
