Suggest Pain Killers For RSD Inspite Of Using Roxicodone And Cymbalta

Question: Hello, Thank you for checking on me. I have been very ill and in extreme pain. Because of a drug screen that my pain management did, that was incorrect, said I used Methamphetamine and Morphine, which is a total lie! I'd swear on my daughter and husbands graves to prove to them they're test was wrong. But without telling me anything, they stop my scripts,Zonegran 100mg, Opana 30mg,2 a day. Roxicodone, 30mg, 4 X day, Cymbalta 60mg,1 day, Clonazepam,1mg prn and say they called in a withdrawal cocktail for me. I hadn't even finished the Roxi's just the Opana, and they cancelled my appts. the cocktail consists of Lorazepam ,10mg? the lorazepam was only 20 pilss to take 3-4 times a day I think. Phenergan,25mg 12 pills, and 9 pills of Atarax! I'm in so much severe pain from this RSD in both legs and feet, I want to die! I can't get another pain management Dr. for 5 more days. What am I to do?

Hi and thank you so much for this query.

To be honest, am short of words to describe how I feel about what you experienced from your doctors. I cannot understand why the health community is punishing clients by no longer listening to them but treating laboratory findings. Someone should have taken the time to talk with you and find out what the possible reasons for these findings in your drug screen were. No one even bothered going on to repeat this test and confirm the findings despite you denying that you are not aware of this. Am shocked at this. However, these are rules put in place and a greater proportion of the medical community just have to execute.

If I may ask, what is the next plan for you? did they promise to call in your pain medications after 5days or did they stop your drugs permanently? How bad is your pain on a scale of 10?

Unfortunately, all the medications you were taking are prescription medications and can only be obtained from your prescribing doctor. There is no effective over the counter drug that I can recommend to you at this time. I very much hope they would reinstate these drugs soon. Should the pains become unbearable, you would have no other option but to visit the emergency room to get some immediate relief.

Please, do not say you want to die. Words are powerful. Should you ever feel like hurting yourself, please call for immediate help.

I hope this helps. I wish I were your treating doctor so that I could have personally taken up on this file. I wish you the very best in this battle and hope your drugs get reinstated soon. Feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.

Thank you so much for your assistance. I wish you were my Dr too. NO, they did not renew any of my scripts for pain or even for the Zonegran, I need for the burning pain I have! I have a new pain Dr to see this Sat., but until then, what am I to do? I've also lost my brother, mother, husband, father and now recently on 4/13, the day of my daughter's passing in 1995,my one of a few sisters passed away. Unexpectedly. She was a recovering drug addict, but had been clean for many yrs, then with the loss of our parents, she relapsed. I didn't believe that she had, but I think I was in denial. All of these losses happened within 1 1/2 yrs. My soul mate left from bladder cancer 3/19/2013. I retired from the medical field after 35 yrs in one place performing Ultrasounds. I know that how they treated me, the Dr, is and was extremely wrong and unprofessional and un caring.
Sorry to burden you with all of my problems, but that'sme.Thank you so much for caring. XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
It must have been difficult on you!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this follow up. You have gone through just so much in such a little time. All this for one person is too much and at times we ask ourselves if live is in fact fair to us or not. I am happy you thought it wise to share these worries with me. Sharing is a great way of easing the pain

Though things have been very difficult, I will encourage you to stay positive. These are occurrences that are final and that we cannot change anything about them. All we have to do is to try and accept them and see how we move on with them. Take the time to grief, it is worth it and it is part of the healing process.

Ask yourself how you think your husband and daughter would have loved you to be this day? Also, ask yourself if there would be proud should they know your exact state of happiness? If that is a NO, then you are doing a disfavor to yourself and in a passive way not honoring them. Enjoy every day and dedicate it to them because that is what they would have wished for you should they have been alive.

I have a singular wish for you: I very much hope that your new pain doctor would be more humane, understanding and would spend much time talking with you and not reviewing charts and laboratory results. What happens with such doctors that treat information than patients is that they never realise the real impact of typing a stop into the system and how it plays in everyday live of the patients.

Be honest and sincere with him. Recount your story and let him make his decisions based on this. I wish you the very best out of this visit.
