The single best drug to correct weight gain is to make sure that TSH is under check. I usually prescribe Metformin for those who cannot lose weight inspite of best efforts including diet and exercise. Metformin is actually an antidiabetic agent which also helps in losing weight. It reduces the intestinal absorption of glucose causing weight loss.
Another wonderful drug to lose weight is orlistat, it causes decreased absorption of fat. However the side effect is greasy stools.

Please approach your doctor with my suggestion, do not self medicate

Orlistat is better however metformin has lesser side effects. However the biggest contributor would be diet and exercise. The best way to diet is by sharing your food
