About osteoporosis treatment:

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for asking,
If bisphosphonates have no helped in improving osteoporosis, there are 2 other types of medications: one is denosumab (prolia) that is recommended to you, the other is Forteo (teriparatide).
Of course there may be side effects and there are contraindications that should be excluded before starting treatment.
But there are highly recommended in patients with fractures due to osteoporosis or in patients with high risks for fractures.
There is no treatment for osteoporosis that may be marked as safe, especially when the risk for fractures is high, or when fracture has occurred (weight loss and physical activity can help to prevent osteoporosis or in osteopenia)
I would recommend Prolia or Forteo (if there are no contraindications) and start treatment without loosing time.
Do not hesitate to ask for further informations.
Kind regards,
Dr.Mirjeta
