Brief Answer:
Vitamin D supplementation is required.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

Since your 25(OH) vitamin D3 levels are lower than normal you're going to need supplementation. Taking 30000 units per week (once) or 4000 units every day sounds OK. You can check vitamin levels again in 2-3 months. Sun exposure will help with vitamin D conversion under the skin. Remember that the sun may also have deleterious effects on the skin so prolonged exposure is not recommended.

Regarding your back pain, more investigation is required. Vitamin D deficiency may cause pain in various parts of the body but your levels are not that low to provide an adequate excuse for that, although it can't be totally excluded. I suggest you check this symptom first with your primary care physician or an orthopedics specialist as the most common causes are musculoskeletal ones like a bulging disc or a muscle sprain/strain. You haven't provided enough information for a more detailed approach.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Brief Answer:
I can't suggest a name.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

I can't suggest a name as I don't know the brand names in your country. You can ask the pharmacist for vitamin D3 formulation that provides either 4000 units (and take one each day) or around 30000 units (and take one per week). Whatever is easier to find, it doesn't make any big difference.

If you'd like to ask about specific products, I'll be glad to look them up for you and tell you if they're OK to use in your case.

Hope I have answered your query.
