Question: Is there a different medication for restless leg syndrome then Mirapex?
I need something for the pain and discomfort but am having many side effects from Mirapex. I'm currently taking 1.0 mg nightly

Brief Answer:
Some alternatives.

Detailed Answer:
I read your question carefully and I understand your concern.

Dopa agonist class drugs like Mirapex are generally the preferred drugs for restless legs syndrome. However there are some other alternatives if you can't handle side effects.
Anticonvulsants like Gabapentin or Pregabalin are one other alternative which could be tried.
A benzodiazepine like Clonazepam is also a commonly used alternative.
Other options include codeine and clonidine.

You should discuss their use with your doctor. I remain at your disposal for other questions.
