default
Posted on Fri, 5 Jun 2015
Question: Hi,
Since last more than 3 weeks I am not able to speak properly (Hoarseness/ Voice coming from my throat is too low and is not clear). There is almost no improvement in my throat since 3 weeks. From last 2-3 days I am on Voice Rest also. I don't have fever/Cold and no pain in throat. I feel like clearing my throat. The ENT doctor examined my throat and found no Infection. Following are the medicine which are suggested by my doctor:
Montair FX (Once Daily)
Tab Enzocort 30 (Twice)
Cap Advent 625 (Twice)
I am having the above medicine from last 5 days.
I am having only warm water and doing gargle 2 times a day.

Could you please suggest something here. Why my throat is not improving. The Madicine which I am taking are good enough. I am worried , its long enough !!

Many Thanks,

Brief Answer:
VL'Scopy.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for your query.

1. Get a VideoLaryngoScopy (VL'Scopy) done.

2. I would agree with you that these medications are good and should have resolved your symptoms in 1-3 weeks.

3. This means that something is still irritating your throat. This may include a Post Nasal Drip, Acid Reflux, Allergy, Vocal cord problems, Chronic Laryngitis and so on.

4. Upload the video or images for further discussion on treatment options.

I hope that I have answered your query. If you have any more questions I will be available to answer them.

Regards.

Thanks sir for your prompt reply.

In addition to my previous discussion I am uploading test reports (1. Throat Swab -Culture & sensitivity 2. Hemogram)
Throat swab reports seems to be Not normal. Could you please have a look into the reports. Is there something serious?
Should I continue the medicine which i mentioned earlier? or some other medicine?
There is no improvement since I am taking the above mentioned medicine(Since 11 May).
In continuation to above attached report. I have done with Laryngoscopy and my doctor found "Thick Mucus Plugs".

My doctor has asked me to continue the same medicine and along with that he has prescribed below medicines also:
Mucolite SR
Enzoflam SV

Please suggest. What should be the precautions here after checking the reports. Whats your say? Many Thanks Sir.

Thanks,

Brief Answer:
Swab and hemogram reports are fine.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for writing back.

1. Your swab culture report shows that the bacteria are sensitive to Advent (amox-clav). This should respond.

2. Your hemogram is within normal limits.

3. 'Thick mucus plugs' is an odd description for a laryngoscopy finding. Kindly upload the report.

4. I would try to locate the source of this mucus. The nose, sinuses, chest and food tract will have to be evaluated.

I hope that I have answered your query. If you have any more questions I will be available to answer them.

Regards.
