Brief Answer:
Please see detailed report.

Detailed Answer:
Dear Sir
1. Before someone is labelled as hypertensive (with high blood pressure), we normally take multiple readings or there should be evidence of severe hypertension or its complication. A single reading usually does not have much significance.
2. There are certain precautions when we measure blood pressure for routine monitoring. One should measure it 3-4 times a week. It should be measured almost at same time of day. One should not have taken meals/ tea/coffee/ smoked or exercised in last one hour. There must not be any acute mental or physical stress e.g. avoid taking BP when you have some physical pain or you are in anger.
3. If 8-10 readings show value more than 140/90 mmHg or there is some complication or single reading is equal to or more than 180/100 mmHg, we consider medication.
4. Non-pharmacological interventions for high blood pressure including moderation in salt intake, optimization of weight (Goal body mass index of 23 for Indians), daily exercise, meditation, use of nuts and legumes in diet. Moderation of alcohol intake and no smoking.
Hope this helps.
Feel free to discuss further.
Sincerely
Sukhvinder
