Suggest Medication For Clogged Ears

Question: Been dealing with fullness in ears since cold first of october.....improving but still need ears to pop and stay open....say ent x2, on flonase and plain mucinex....anything else i should be doin? Feel like this is taking too long, never had this issue before....would a low dose prednisone help or take antihistamine/decong regularly. ...feel like I'm missing something....ent just stated making progress since fluid was gone....any advice would be greatly appreciated...Thank you, Roxanne

Based on the history you have shared, yes you can get benefits by using decongestants and anti histamines like cetrizine or loratidine may also be of some help, But I would not recommend using steroids like prednisone as that can be associated with more side effects then benefits in the long run. Other measures which can also help would be steam inhalations. Also try to chew bubble gums on the affected ear side more or use maneuvers ke blowing your ears with filling air in your oral cavity and closing the mouth, and nose tightly close for a while to exert pressures on ear from inside through eustachian tube. These maneuvers can be repeated every once in a while.
