Question: I am 77 years old and in good health and physical condition. I work out 4-5 days per week on a treadmill and with TRX. My wife is 75 years old and in good health. She works out with a trainer 1-2 days per week. Would there be any benefit to acquiring a whole body vibrating machine for each of us to use approximatelt 10 minutes per day in addition to our other routines?

Hello!

Thank you for asking on HCM!

Regarding your concern, I would explain that the physical activity you perform seems to be enough for a healthy body.

You should know that at your age it is recommended performing at least 25 minutes of moderate physical activity( cycling, walking, yoga, jogging, etc) per day or half of this time if it is performed in the form of vigorous physical activity. You can also alternate vigorous and moderate physical exercises.

Coming to this point I would recommend I increasing the frequency of the physical exercise you perform. It would be really helpful walking 4 km per day, besides cycling twice a week ( like you refer about your wife).
But I would not recommend buying a vibration machine, as it doesn't seem to be a preferred type of physical exercise at your age, with any additional health benefits.

Hope to have been helpful!

Best wishes!
