Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for asking on HCM!

Regarding your concern, I would explain that the dose of Losartan HCTZ that you are taking is the minimal daily dose, with a therapeutic effect.

Your actual blood pressure values are still above the normal ranges, which means that your blood pressure is not under control.

That is why, I would recommend double the dose of Losartan HCTZ to two tablets in the morning.

It will help reduce your blood pressure values.

If your blood pressure values fall more than necessary and you feel light headed or dizzy, I would recommend reducing the dose of Losartan and take them separately : Losartan 50mg and Hydrochlorothiazide 25mg in the morning.

Some other tips to reduce your blood pressure would be:

- reduce salt and caffeine intake
- perform a lot of physical activity (walking, aerobics, etc.).
- try to lose some pounds if you are overweight.

Hope to have been helpful!

Kind regards,

Dr. Iliri
